Nepal

On April 23rd I posted a link to the article entitled “Green approach can shape an industry while earning profits and respect” covering the birth of tourism in Nepal. Two days later a 7.8 magnitude earthquake devastated the country, killing thousands (death toll could reach 10.000). According to Time magazine, Nepal is poor country with per capita GDP less than $700 a year. The majority of houses are built by the owners without any supervision of trained engineers and tourism accounts to approx. 8% of the Nepalese economy employing more than a million people.

At this time, I wish to express solidarity with the suffering of the people and wish the country a fast recuperation. Fortunately, the Nepalese people share a Buddhist vision of life that will help them overcome the tragedy.
