The Future of the Human Spirit in a World of Machines

Walter Isaacson is President and CEO of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan educational and policy studies organization based in Washington, DC. He has been chairman and CEO of CNN and editor of TIME magazine. Isaacson’s most recent book is The Innovators: How a Group of Hackers, Geniuses, and Geeks Created the Digital Revolution (2014). He is also the author of Steve Jobs and several other best-selling biographies. Isaacson is a graduate of Harvard College and of Pembroke College of Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar. He is vice-chair of Partners for a New Beginning, a public-private group tasked with forging ties between the US and Muslim world. He formerly served as chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors. He is chair emeritus of Teach for America and serves on the board of United Airlines, Tulane University, and the Overseers of Harvard University. From 2005-2007, he was vice-chair of the Louisiana Recovery Authority.
