BBC Earth films atop Africa’s second highest mountain

At high altitude in Africa, a BBC Earth film crew went to extraordinary lengths to capture a stunning timelapse of life on Mount Kenya.

The ambitious film crew climbed to 4500 metres above sea level, to take a series of 3D images revealing how life adapts from the heat of the day to the extreme cold of night.

One particular sequence the crew filmed revealed the beautiful opening and closing of a curious plant called cabbage groundsel.

BBC Earth undertook this extraordinary adventure while making the BBC Earth Films production Enchanted Kingdom, which reveals the majesty of the natural world as never before in 3D.
